Emma Bates joins the IMG Yacht Support team

Integrated Marine Group (IMG) has welcomed a new member of staff, with Emma Bates joining the company’s Yacht Support division as of January 2015.

Prior to her appointment at IMG Bates spent many years working in the yachting, airline and hospitality industries, leaving her well-equipped for the fast paced, varied world of yacht support. Bates’ significant yachting experience includes a long stint on board 56m Perini Navi ketch Fidelis and several Atlantic crossings.

As a former crewmember her strong understanding of the standards and requirements of superyachts will ensure that all yachts working with IMG receive the highest levels of service. “I am very excited to have joined the team at IMG and am looking forward to working with the company’s yacht clients to ensure their time in New Zealand is an easy and memorable one,” said Bates.

“We are delighted to welcome Emma to IMG,” said Tony Whiting, Operations Manager at IMG. “She brings a wealth of knowledge to the role and we know she will take our yacht support division to new heights.”

IMG proud sponsors of the NZ Millennium Cup 2015

As long time supporters of the New Zealand Millennium Cup, having been involved since the inaugural regatta in 2000, Integrated Marine Group (IMG) once again joined the sponsor line up for the 2015 edition of the event.

Held for the first time in the picturesque Bay of Islands, the regatta attracted seven yachts, with 50m Silencio the eventual winner. Hosted over four days, with three days racing, the regatta included a vibrant social programme to complement the varied racing courses. The new location proved extremely popular and was the perfect showcase of why the region is such a frequent cruising ground for visiting superyachts.

Having originated alongside New Zealand’s hosting of the America’s Cup in 2000, in the 15 years since its inception, the NZ Millennium Cup has proved both an important incentive for sailing yachts to visit New Zealand and a means of globally showcasing the country and the memorable experiences it can offer to superyachts and their owners.

Both Mark Wightman and Emma Bates of IMG were on hand during the event, and were full of praise for the regatta. “As a proud Kiwi company, sponsoring the event is a perfect partnership for IMG,” said Wightman. “The Bay of Islands setting is spectacular and it has been great to see so much support from visiting yachts and the international industry. We look forward to continuing to support the South Pacific’s premier superyacht regatta in the future.”
